Awkward
- Still no good news.
- Our coffee maker broke! I mean, there’s a Biggby right down the street, and we got a new one, but still.
- The weather. This is Michigan! We aren’t made for the heat!
- That picture. Shut up, that was the first time I’d left the house in three days.
- Also the chicken hat. Different days, actually–Cracker Barrel is an endless source of amusement. (I preferred the shark hat.)
- Finding out that those two USPS boxes sitting on the bench at my grandma’s contain the ashes of her sister and brother-in-law…and having grandma say, “Oh, don’t knock Auntie Ann and Uncle Norm off the bench!”

Awesome
- International Coffee ready-to-drink iced coffee. Yes.
-  Also, I made cupcakes.
- Chinese buffet! (Obviously, I have a thing for spring rolls.)
- My great aunt (my grandma’s sister) got married on Saturday! For the fourth time! It was a little weird, but really cute and she was so happy.
- My cousin, Kristin (also a bridesmaid), came to visit from Tennessee! That girl needs to move back up here. She’s three weeks older, so we’re basically the same person. (Cake!)
-  Got my ring resized and replated, so now it fits and is super shiny!
- Cracker Barrel apple pancakes. YUM.

I was totally going to do a wedding post yesterday, but I didn’t have much to post about. I’ll definitely run out of things before next August, haha.

Awkward
- Reading a very well-loved copy of Summer Knight by Jim Butcher, and having it literally fall apart in my hands. It is now a book in four parts (bottom right).
- Finally reading The Hunger Games. I’m ambivalent about it. It’s a very interesting story, but the writing is not great. Yes, I know that it’s written for teens, but the author is an adult. (Don’t say that I didn’t warn some of you on my very high standards concerning sci-fi/fantasy books.) (By the way, the kid that killed Rue deserved that arrow to the throat.)
- Not knowing how to nicely answer people’s annoying wedding questions, especially the ones they’ve already asked seven times.
- Making a Harry Potter joke about Dark Marks…and no one getting it.

Awesome
- I found my wedding dress! I hadn’t planned on getting anything when Josh’s mom, Siobhan (one of my bridesmaids), and I went shopping at the only non-David’s Bridal bridal shop in town, but I had an amazing consultant and tried on lots of amazing dresses. Josh said he nearly had a heart attack when I texted him that I’d found my dress, haha. I’ll post pictures next week of the dresses that I didn’t choose.
- Also, my consultant (Kyle) was really awesome.
- It’s Thursday already!
- Orange juice + apple juice. (top right)
- My hair yesterday! (top left)
- I basically have our wedding planned. Too bad it’s not for another sixteen months.
- Josh started wearing my old “you & me” ring. :) I originally purchased it from Etsy and lost it last winter because it was too big and it slipped off in the snow one night. I ordered a new, smaller one, and then Aubrey (little sister) found the first one. It hung around the house for a while, and then Josh started wearing it last week.

awkward and awesome Thursday

Hello, Thursday, lovely to see you again. Thursday is one of my favorite days of the week, because it means that the week is almost over, and two of my favorite shows (Community and Parks and Rec) are on.

Awkward
- Coming in to work an hour early because I didn’t realize my schedule change was for the whole week. I could have slept in! (At least I only did it on Monday.)
- Allergies. Ugh.
- Almost nothing has gone right this week. I don’t get it.
- Too much Easter candy. I had to bring most of it into work to so that we wouldn’t have it staring at us  (but I kept the two bags of Reese’s peanut butter eggs).

Awesome
- I have my first appointment to try on wedding dresses on Saturday!
- We decided on a reception venue (see yesterday’s post)!
-  Josh and I combined our car insurance policies (or, rather, I was added to his). We’re, like, grownups and stuff.
- The overwhelming response we’ve gotten to the wedding–everyone wants to help out.
- Wedding planning, overall, is going very smoothly. Maybe it’s because I like doing this kind of stuff? - See those chips and dip up there? Pub dip (asiago cheese, sundried tomatoes, artichokes). My favorite.
- Some kid came in to Biggby while Josh and I were waiting on our coffees and asked the owner to change their sign (which normally has trivia questions) to say “PROM?” underneath “today’s menu.” Nom!

awkward and awesome Thursday

Wow, it’s already Thursday. Work is getting in to the busy season, so my days are kinda flying by over here.

Awkward
- Having to listen to our downstairs neighbors fight and being able to hear every word. Break up already!
- Busy season + new system = tension at work. I avoid it like the plague.
- Following the same person yesterday on the way to work and on the way home…and them noticing.
- Getting a little sunburned from the drive home…while wearing SPF 50. This is what I get for being part ginger.
- Having to repeat my name seventeen times on the phone. “Hi this is Brandy…” “Hi, Randy, how are you?” “Actually, it’s Brandy…” “Okay, Peggy, sorry about that!” “Brandy, with a B…” “Ooh, sorry Brenda…” The first one I understand…not so much the rest. Sometimes I just go with it.
- Everyone and their brother has wedding advice, suggestions, and opinions…I was not really prepared for this.
- The girl across the hall. In addition to knocking on her door for twenty minutes straight at 7AM until her dad let her in, she was escorted home the other day by the police, who caught her shoplifting. (Even though I love our complex and the staff…ugh.)

Awesome
- The feel of a fresh hair cut first thing Saturday morning. My hair always looks and feels so much healthier and softer after I get a trim.
-  Being introduced to people as Josh’s fiancee. Makes me grin real big.
- My car! I haven’t even driven it in the snow yet, but I just want to hug it every day.
- Having the windows open and sleeping with the windows open. Some of you are going to think I’m crazy, but I LOVE sleeping with the windows open this time of year, when it gets down in the 40s. I sleep so much better.
- My grandma “liking” one of my Facebook statuses (stati?). She’s not big into Facebook, but it’s cute when she does get on.
- Making a new friend on Foursquare/Twitter (after I ousted her as mayor at our skincare place), and then checking in at my optometrist only to see that she was also checked in there! We ended up exchanging tweets and then finally checked out across from one another and waved.
- Working out! Three whole days in a row!
- Instagram available for Android phones! Yay! I love my HTC Evo and Instagram is pretty cool so far. (I even added an icon for my Instagram/Instagrid profile over on the left!)
- Having my bridesmaids all in one place (digitally) and reconnecting with my cousin/twin/best friend from childhood (she’s three weeks older).

awkward and awesome Thursday

Anyone else really hate the heat? Don’t get me wrong, I love higher temperatures, especially after winter, but…it’s March. It’s been in the mid 80s here all week, and it’s awful.

Awkward
-
Have I mentioned the weather? It’s horrible.
- Wearing a sweater in my office when it’s 90 degrees outside. It’s already cold in here, and then the air conditioning gets turned on.
- Listening to our downstairs neighbors fight. At 2AM.
- Watching a lady back into another car on St. Patrick’s Day, not stop, not look when she comes back, then watching her leave again, hit a support pole for her car port and not look again when she comes back the second time.

Awesome
-
Wrestling season is over! It’s always such a bittersweet feeling, really, but it’s nice to have Josh back and have time to see his family.
- Cupcakes! In honor of wrestling season being over, Josh’s dad had a big feast, and I brought cupcakes so that his little brother could gorge himself (he had ten). Normally I only make red velvet with cream cheese frosting, but I tried out a dark chocolate fudge with whipped milk chocolate frosting, and they were AMAZING. I was afraid they might be too sweet, but even Josh had a couple.
- Getting to work on wedding stuff with Josh. I never thought he’d really be interested, but he will occasionally sit with me and give his opinion on things. It’s cute, really.
- My manicure this week (well, this week and last week) in honor of getting my ring back (see above).
- I got my ring back from being resized!
- My new car. Still awesome. The service from the dealership has been amazing, too, which is a huge plus.
