These weekends really need to slow it down and let me enjoy them. Have I mentioned that I’m working six days a week? Because I’m working six days a week. And late every night (usually). Almost makes me miss being in college (almost), except that I actually have money now.

Anyway, this past weekend, we celebrated Josh’s dad’s birthday (but did not get to go see Avengers…).

We had a cookout and our traditional birthday brownies, and it brought back lots of good memories of summers spent at their house cooking out, sitting around the fire, singing and gorging ourselves on smores.

Aubrey always insists on doing my hair,  so I get to relax for a while while she does. She does a mean fishtail, and I’m considering hiring her to come over in the morning and do this every day.

And I redid my nails finally, in my new favorite manicure. I love having a nail polish that FINALLY stays on my nails (even if getting off is a process)! I’m going to do something similar for the wedding, although I’ll let my manicurist do it, since she has real glitter (and probably won’t get bits of lint and whatnot stuck in it haha).

Seven random facts about me:

1. I am very particular about my sleeping arrangements. I can only sleep on my side with a body pillow between my knees and tucked under my chin, on a memory foam pillow and a memory foam mattress.
2. I am a flexitarian, or semi-vegetarian. Basically, I eat mostly vegetarian and only occasionally meat (mostly chicken or turkey).
3. I do NOT like horror movies. I’m (mostly) fine with blood and whatnot on procedural crime shows (Bones, NCIS, etc.), but gore/horror makes me nauseous. (Though I love shows like Ghost Hunters and Destination Truth.)
4. I don’t eat fast food anymore, but could make a meal out of McDonald’s fries and/or hashbrowns.
5. I really miss playing World of Warcraft. So many good memories and fun times in the relatively short time that I played. (But I’ll probably pick up Guild Wars 2 when it comes out.)
6. I really enjoy singing and dancing, but not in front of other people (the singing part, anyway).
7. Growing up, I watched the Star Wars (originals) and Indiana Jones movies on sick/snow days and during the summer.

Eleven questions:

1. If you could have one superpower/”gift” what would it be and why?
   Probably telekinesis/telepathy (like Psylocke). I just feel like I would get a lot more done.
2.  If you had to have the same polish on for the rest of your life, which would you choose?
   Red Carpet Manicure’s Simply Adorable (light pink in the manicure photo above) or Inspiration (dark grey).
3.  What is your all time favorite book or author?
   I’m a big fan of series, rather than single books, so I’m going to say Jim Butcher, who wrote two of my favorite series, The Dresden Files and Codex Alera.
4. If you could choose to change anything about yourself, whether it be physical or just to better yourself as a person, what would you change?
   I guess I would make myself less OCD about things. I have a certain way that I do laundry/load the dishwasher/etc., and I get (unnecessarily) annoyed when it happens differently.
5. If you had to live in a movie, tv show or video game which would you choose to exist in!?
   Pssh, Firefly-verse. (Burn the land, boil the sea, but you can’t take the sky from me.)
6. What do you feel is the best quality you possess?
   Either my insane organizational skills (I remember so much stuff and I have never failed to tell Josh exactly where something he’s looking for is) or my creativity. I don’t think the second one is really super awesome or anything, but I get tons of compliments on stuff that I make, so I’ll go with what other people think.
7. How would you spend your last day on earth if you knew when that day was?
   Drink in hand, gorging myself on my favorite foods, surrounded by my favorite people.
8. If you had a chance to meet anybody (alive or dead) who would you meet?
   Nathan Fillion.
9. What is your favorite dessert?
   Carnival Cruises chocolate lava cake, ice cream (usually chocolate, mint chocolate chip, or cookie dough) in a glass of Nesquik chocolate milk, or red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting and sprinkled with cinnamon sugar.
10. What is your all time fav band?
    I’m not really a band person. I prefer solo acts, usually. But, if I have to choose a band…Incubus.
11. Do you have a weird quirk, or something a little strange that you do? What is it!?
    Everything about me is a little strange, haha. Um, I snort when I laugh sometimes. I tear pieces off of sandwiches, rather than taking bites. I dress up and go to Renaissance faires.
